To be fair to Tei, I’m not saying that PHS’s “After Love” carries a far more superior tune. But at least, it has a more interesting and unique arrangement – the prominent sound of the strings, addition of heavy bass to accentuate each beat starting from the 2nd verse, and the weaving of the piano intro into the bridge – all make the song superior to Tei’s “Poisonous Tongue”. What a waste to a beautiful singing voice if the singer has no control over his own music. Perhaps, at least, one should associate with the better composers and musicians.
